They also help us improve the quality of the page in accordance with your browsing habits and patterns.

This Cookies Policy is supplemented by the Website’s Privacy Policy.

What are cookies?

A cookie is a file that is downloaded to your device (whether a computer, smartphone, tablet or any other device) when you access a web page, enabling the owner of that page to store or retrieve certain information about multiple variables, such as:

  • The number of times the user has visited the page,

  • Identifying the registered user,

  • Maintaining the user’s session while browsing the page, or,

  • Allowing operations to be carried out securely and reliably, etc.

As indicated, cookies provide information about users’ browsing habits and may therefore affect their privacy. For this reason, we want to provide you with the necessary information about the types of cookies used in our app, allowing you to make fully informed decisions about their use.

Who is responsible for the use of cookies?

The responsible entity is BASE4 BIOSCIENCES, S.L., (hereinafter, BASE4BIO), with tax identification number (CIF) B24825846 and registered office at Cabrils (08348 Barcelona), Carrer de Can Campins, number 7, Floor 1, Door 1. You may also contact us at the email address privacy@base4bio.com.

What types of cookies are there?

Cookies can be classified according to:

Technology used

  • Standard cookie: A small text file or widely used device that is downloaded to the user’s computer when browsing the Website in order to store data that may be updated and retrieved by BASE4BIO as the entity responsible for its installation, to improve browsing and the user experience.

  • Cookie using advertising pixels or similar technologies: A small fragment of source code that allows the Website to transfer and/or collect information by sending a request to the server associated with that advertising pixel. Its main purpose is to obtain information about the effectiveness of advertising campaigns, traffic generated on the Website, and the personalisation of advertisements and their content.

Cookie duration

  • Session: These are Cookies designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a web page. They are usually used to store information that only needs to be retained to provide the service requested by the user on a single occasion (for example, a list of purchased products) and disappear when the session ends.

  • Persistent: These are Cookies in which the data remains stored on the device and may be accessed and processed for a period defined by the party responsible for the cookie, which may range from a few minutes to several years.

Intended purpose

  • Technical: These are Cookies that are strictly necessary for browsing the Website, as they enable the User to use its features or tools, such as identifying the session, accessing restricted areas, remembering the items in an order and completing the purchase process, among others. Without them, these functions would be disabled, making browsing the Website very difficult or impossible.

  • Personalisation: These are Cookies that allow the Website to remember the choices made by the User, for example, retaining the User’s geographical location, username, language, the type of browser used to access it or other similar aspects. The purpose of these cookies is to provide a more personalised service.

  • Security: These are Cookies that prevent or hinder attacks against the Website or its Users.

  • Analytics: These are Cookies that allow the party responsible for them to monitor and analyse the behaviour of Website Users. The information collected is used to measure Website activity and create Users’ browsing profiles. Their purpose is to introduce improvements based on analysis of data on how Users use the service.

  • Behavioural and advertising: These are Cookies that enable the most effective possible management of the advertising spaces that the publisher has included on the Website, based on criteria such as the content published or the frequency with which advertisements are displayed. Their purpose is to store information about user behaviour obtained through continuous observation of their browsing habits, allowing a specific profile to be developed to display advertising based on it.

  • Social media: These are Cookies used to enable the User to interact with content from different social platforms (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.).

Origin

  • Cookies can be classified as first-party or third-party cookies, depending on the website or domain that places them.

  • First-party cookies are essentially cookies set by the domain that the user visits, the website shown in the URL window: that is, cookies set by BASE4BIO on this website.

  • Third-party cookies are cookies set by a domain other than the one the user is visiting: that is, cookies from companies and websites other than , such as Google, Facebook, YouTube, etc.
